A big Hello from Knut’s hometown!

I’m just back from the States, where I had the oppourtunity to work with the fine folks at the Berlin Convention Office, doing a series of presentations to promote the Hauptstadt. I quickly realized there was no need for my witty, cosmopolitan, fact-filled presentation to get Americans to visit, all I needed to do was to say the word “KNUT” and they were sold.

Summertime news:

The MISS AMERIKA book tour has been a great success – I’ve done over 90 readings and seen parts of Deutschland I never dreamed of seeing (Hello Tauberbischofsheim!). I’m doing my very last MISS AMERIKA readings in the next weeks (in Giessen, on Sylt and on Rügen and in Buxtehude, among others), so catch me if you can. Check out the dates site for details and info.

I’m honored to have been asked by President Horst Köhler to perform with The Soul Sensation Orchestra at his big Summer Party at beautiful Schloss Bellevue in Berlin on July 7. Anybody who’s anybody will be there and I fully intend to rock the house.

Then it’s anchors away as I head off to Scandanavia and the North Pole aboard the MS Europa (one of the world’s swankiest cruise ships!), where I’ll be presenting a sneak preview of my new book WEIHNACHT BEI TIFFANY’S.

I’ll then be taking a bit of a break from performing to start work on my BRAND NEW SHOW, which will premiere in TIPI in Berlin in May 2008.

Hello!

The ongoing adventure that is my life in Germany is always surprising and ocassionally astounding.

It seems that I’ve been placed on a shortlist of the best German comedians of all time. Jawoll!

On April 27th (21.15 p.m.) Germany’s second largest television network ZDF is airing a special called “Unsere besten Komiker und Comedians” (Our Best Comedy Stars). The network has (very kindly) placed me on their shortlist of 150 comedy performers, alongside brilliant contemporary colleagues such as Michael Mittermeier, as well as comic innovators and pioneers of stage and screen, such as Loriot. Needless to say, I am very honored. Who says the Germans don’t have a sense of humor?

The top 50 will be featured on the special. The best part is – everybody can vote! So I’m asking you to help land me in the top 50! I feel a little bit like Barack Obama – a bit of an underdog, but with a little luck and a lot of support anything is possible!

Online-Voting by the German TV channel ZDF for Gayle!

this information was already posted in the German version yesterday morning.

The German TV channel ZDF started an online voting for "Unsere Besten". This voting starts at 2nd March 2007 and will end at 1st April 2007. Gayle was nominated by the ZDF and stands together with 149 other nominated comedians in a toplist.

Gayle's Newsletter 01/16/2007

So many requests have poured in since the television broadcast of SOUL SENSATION, that we’ve decided to play it live one more time! You can catch us onstage in TIPI in Berlin, from February 16.-20. The whole crew will be there: my fabulous SOUL SENSATION ORCHESTRA under the musical direction of Michael Dixon, the singin’-and-dancin’-powerpack THE SENSATIONS, and the sensational music – from Motown to Madonna – that we love to play. It’s Dreamgirls does Deutschland!

We’re also putting together a SOUL SENSATION TOUR and want to hear from any interested producers, theatres and festivals out there – give us a call!

I’m also on the road again with my solo program “MISS AMERIKA” – dates are listed under “tour”.

Nach der TV-Ausstrahlung meiner Show “Soul Sensation” gab es so viele neue Anfragen, das wir sie noch einmal live spielen werden. Vom 16.-20. Februar im TIPI in Berlin. Alle werden dabei sein: Das Soul Sensation Orchestra unter der Leitung von Michael Dixon und die drei Sensations. Die Show ist immer ein Riesenspaß und ich finde, meine Musiker und Sänger werden immer besser – es ist Dreamsgirls goes Deutschland!
Wir arbeiten gerade an weiteren Tourterminen mit der Show. Veranstalter: Meldet Euch.

Fan Club Newsletter 12/06: Thank YOU!

Dear Fan Club members and all fans & friends,

it was a very successful year for the official Gayle Tufts Fan Club. Since the foundation in April 2006 until this day, 8 months have passed. And in these 8 months the official Gayle Tufts Fan Club presented with currently 52 members "high-speed-work".

Since Gayle was on the road this year more than successfully with her "MISS AMERIKA" tour in Germany and in Switzerland, "Soul Sensation!" is -anyway- a true soul sensation and "White Christmas Again" was also very successful, the Fan Club was more as busy: The whole Fan Club website was also translated in an English version, the first own fan club autograph card was created and printed by the Fan Club and also distributed by Gayle during her autograph hours, the first Fan Club game was realized successfully, and much more.

On account of many suggestions, the idea of the "Special-edition-website" originated. Every single show gets his own website - created and presented by the official Gayle Tufts Fan Club. At this moment, we have a special edition for "White Christmas Again". "Soul Sensation!" is already under construction and will be online at the end of January, 2007. Of course, we won't forget "MISS AMERIKA"!

We have tons of new ideas for 2007.
Today I am very proud to say, that we still go along with Gayle for a very long time. Only this proves the teamwork with Gayle and Lutz Gajewski. Thank you so much, I couldn't have done it without you! I also would like to thank: Rainer Bielfeldt, Catrin Schmitt, Ursula Heiner (Hunde für Handicaps), TIPI - Das Zelt, Der Audio Verlag, GEMA, ZDF, 3Sat, WDR, NDR, RBB, Radio Multikulti and all other persons who have helped and supported us at our work.

However, the biggest 'Thank You' goes to YOU fans! The Fan Club would be only half a Fan Club without you. Many, many thanks for your fan mails, suggestions, praise and criticism. We hope that we will grow the next year even more. And last but not least we are very happy to have some members in our Fan Club from the USA!
